Katt Williams and Luke Wash, the teenager he was filmed fighting with in a Gainesville, Ga., park, have both been charged with disorderly conduct.
Williams and Luke’s fight went viral after what seemed to be a simple game of soccer. And although no charges were filed by either party, it was the video footage that brought on the charges by authorities, according to the Associated Press.
Luke, who is actually 17 and not a seventh-grader, as earlier reports suggested, will be charged as an adult.
“It’s my understanding that Wash is in custody at the jail, and we have made contact with Williams’ attorney, and it is our hopes and our understanding that he will be turning himself in,” Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Monday.
According to Williams’ attorney, Drew Findling, the comedian was doing community service when the fight started.
“It’s a shame because from all accounts from the people we interviewed, his behavior was exemplary the whole day,” Findling said.
This latest charge for Williams will more than likely affect charges that he also faces stemming from a recent pool-store fight.
“At the time of these new charges, he was actually out on a conditional bond, and subsequently, he has an arrest order from Superior Court revoking his bond,” Holbrook said.
