If you were holding out hope that the Kanye West who infamously told us that George W. Bush “doesn’t care about black people” was going to make a return anytime soon, don’t hold your breath—you might die.
Ye’s recent visit to the offices of The Fader proves that “our nigga gone” for real.
He showed up to The Fader on Thursday for a meeting which turned into an impromptu listening to some of the songs off his new album Yahndi, which is set to drop today. He wore a “Make America Great Again” hat and paired it with a Colin Kaepernick sweatshirt because, Kanye.
Here is a brief rundown of the fuckshit The Fader learned about Kanye and his upcoming album during his visit:
- The album features performances from Tekashi 6ix9ine—who pleaded guilty to three felony counts of sexual misconduct with a child—and the now-deceased XXXtentacion—who was accused of domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and aggravated battery by his pregnant girlfriend. Questionable choices for musical collaborations to say the least, but this is Kanye we are talking about, so anything goes.
- He is the scheduled musical guest for the season 44 opener of Saturday Night Live, having been subbed in as a last minute replacement for Ariana Grande. He told The Fader that he would have preferred to have Louis C.K.—the disgraced comedian and sexual abuser—be the host of the show for the night. Because. Kanye.
- He won’t stop making uneducated statements about slavery. He not only incorrectly stated that there were only 800 slaves in the U.S. in the 1800s, but he also said that he would have “run, fought, or got killed” if he were a slave, and on one of his new songs he says multiple times “I’m giving up my slave name.”
- He also said that when a woman has any type of plastic surgery done, her “pussy count goes back to zero.” Uh, OK. Is that a reference to his wife? Her sisters? We can’t be sure, really.
Here’s an interesting note: Spin reports that in the original Fader report on Kanye’s visit, the outlet quoted him as saying Donald Trump and Infowars founder Alex Jones were “matrix-breakers.” That quote was reportedly pulled sometime between Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening for whatever reason, but isn’t that just peak Kanye? Not only did The Fader pull the quotes, but they offered no explanation for doing so.
It doesn’t matter really. The point of this post is to let y’all know that Kanye is so deep in the sunken place, we will never retrieve him again.
