Kanye West can probably forget about being invited to the White House anytime soon. During an interview with Power 106 FM in Los Angeles, West was asked what he thought about the president and had a few unkind words. He replied, “You can’t effect change from inside the White House like that … you gotta have the money.” I'm quite sure the president isn’t rubbing pennies together.
According to the Daily Mail, West continued his rant, actually contradicting himself: “Good ideas usually aren’t connected to money as much … Creativity and extreme genius are extremely cheap.” If you didn't quite understand what West was talking about, he had a few words of advice. “Don’t worry about how I’m saying what I’m saying. Look at what I’m saying and how I feel my intent is,” West said.
After ranting about Obama’s last two years in office, West also talked about the one subject he knows best: himself, of course. He had a warning for those people who criticized his thoughts: “You do not want to go against the power. I’m working on one mission, and that’s a mission from God.”
This isn’t the first time West has dissed the president. In a London concert in February 2013, West said onstage, “I don’t give a f—k what the president’s got to say.”
I wonder if the president’s opinion about West has changed. In 2009, after West interrupted Taylor Swift during her MTV Video Music Awards speech, President Obama referred to him as an a—hole. I’m going to go out on a limb and say probably not.
