If you waited patiently at home through three whole hours of awards being handed out and weird collaboration performances during Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, just to witness Kanye West’s closing performance, you were probably left disappointed.
During the live broadcast of the award show, those in the audience were able to hear West perform “Black Skinhead” and “All Day” at the Las Vegas MGM Grand, but those of us at home were privy to a lot of censoring and silence because West’s songs were littered with the n-word and other foul language.
And then there were the pyrotechnics used during the performance. You could barely make out West through the lights and flames, so I guess it made sense to barely be able to hear what he was saying.
But something tells me the trigger-happy person behind the censoring kept his finger on the button for so long just to make sure he didn’t miss anything, because of the heavy fines a network can receive for profanity.
Either way, the newly designated Dr. West’s new album, Swish, which features “All Day,” doesn’t have a release date yet, but there’s no one anticipating it more than West himself, of course.
