Over the weekend, Kanye West was honored at this year’s 2015 BET Honor Awards, which are scheduled to air Feb. 23 on BET. West received the Visionary Award, which was presented to him with a video tribute featuring Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Common and Damon Dash.

Dash, who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay Z, hasn’t always been on the best of terms with West, but he had a few poignant words for the rapper.

“My history with Kanye is I didn’t respect him as a rapper because I was around the greatest rappers,” Dash stated. “But he has courage.”

In the audience, West’s wife looked on as he accepted his award.

The video has been removed by request.

“I understand what it is to be humbled for the first time,” West stated. But of course he didn’t remain humble for long. West found it in his humble heart to throw shade at his wife’s ex-boyfriends and to dispel “notions” about interracial relationships.

“They say white girls go out and get a rich black dude. But my wife has dated broke black dudes. So it’s not about the money,” West stated.

Interestingly enough, his wife has dated numerous professional athletes, so I’m not quite sure what type of “broke” he’s referring to. But maybe it was a direct shot at Ray J?

You’d have to wonder if West actually has some type of insecurity issues when it comes to his wife and all of the other black men she’s dated. They may not have had his length of money, but they definitely weren’t making minimum wage at Wal-Mart. So to West, you win. You have more money than Damon Thomas, Ray J, Nick Cannon, Reggie Bush, Miles Austin and Kris Humphries. You’ve won a prized white woman. #Sarcasm.
