Kanye West has canceled his remaining North American tour dates following an epic rant in the middle of a Sacramento, Calif., show that went viral over the weekend.
“Tickets will be fully refunded at a point of purchase,” Live Nation said in a statement. No explanation was given for the cancellation of the Saint Pablo Tour, but according to a report report from the Washington Post, both People and TMZ cite an unnamed source as saying the reason is exhaustion as the artist tries to balance his tour with working on fashion design.
West is no stranger to weird concert behavior. At a San Jose, Calif., show last week, he stopped his performance to announce that although he didn’t vote, he supported Donald Trump. The Sacramento show Saturday was already off to a bad start with West showing up 90 minutes late to perform. According to reports, he performed just a few songs before launching into his rant, which led to the audience booing him, viral videos being posted and an epic Snoop Dogg video condemning his behavior.
“This Saint Pablo Tour is the most relevant [thing] happening,” West told the crowd Saturday. “If your old ass keeps following old models, your ass is going to get Hillary Clintoned. You might not like it, but you need to hear it.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, West canceled a scheduled appearance at the Forum in Inglewood just hours before it was supposed to begin. In total, 22 shows have been canceled, including two shows scheduled for Dec. 30 and Dec. 31 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
