One thing to know about former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is when it comes to his wife, he plays no games! Emhoff had some choice words for the man who snubbed former Vice President Kamala Harris during the Senate swearing-in ceremony. The video of the snub has now gone viral.

Harris has seemingly gotten over the blatant disrespect from Bruce Fischer, the husband of Neb. Sen. Debra Fischer, but clearly Emhoff still isn’t having it. According to CNN, President Donald Trump’s inauguration brought Fischer and Harris’ husband together, and he didn’t let the disrespect slide.

At the ceremonial tea at the White House on Monday (Jan 21), the former second gentleman gave Fischer a taste of his own medicine by refusing to shake his hand. According to sources, Fischer extended a handshake to Emhoff, but he responded, “Why would you try to shake my hand when you wouldn’t shake my wife’s hand?”

If you remember, Fischer and his wife stood in the old Senate chamber early January as Harris performed the traditional repetition of the oath. After being sworn in, the senator kindly shook Harris’ hand, but when the same gesture was presented to her husband, Fischer basically ignored her.

The full-length image of their weird exchange shows the senator’s husband was holding a cane with one hand and the Bible with his other. But based on the vice president’s reaction to being snubbed, you can tell there was something bigger at play. At one point, Harris tried to break the ice and encouraged Fischer to warm up saying, “I’m not going to bite, don’t worry.” But, he didn’t budge.

As she usually does, Harris smiled and brushed off the awkward interaction, but weeks later, it was clearly still on Emhoff’s mind. When the former second gentleman confronted Fischer, Harris and the GOP senator were not present, according to CNN.

But their tense discussion was enough to make Fischer return and apologize to Emhoff. It’s unclear if Harris ever got an apology from him, however. After the event, Fischer and Emhoff were seen in good spirits, even chatting about golf, according to reports.
