People on social media have been cracking jokes about every other A-lister associated with Sean “Diddy” Combs, assuming they’re shaking in their boots amidst his sex trafficking charges. Despite the microscope of one of Combs’ former associates, Justin Bieber, the pop singer is minding his business by minding his faith.

On Monday, Sept. 16, the 54-year-old rap mogul was arrested in Manhattan by federal authorities. His indictment was unsealed the following morning, revealing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution.

Amidst the controversy surrounding Combs’ alleged debauchery, social media users took to the internet to speculate what other celebrity would get caught up in his mess. On the top of the roster is the beloved Canadian pop singer: Justin Bieber. Why?

Well, in a resurfaced 2009 clip of the then-15-year-old popstar he’s seen getting a tour of the mogul’s mansion on “48 Hours with Diddy” after fans helped the two connect. By the time Bieber turned 21, the two were seen in pictures partying. However, after Combs’ indictment was unsealed, Bieber didn’t make a whistleblowing statement as the public expected. Instead, one of his insiders told PEOPLE he was aware of the allegations but just wanted to “focus on being a great dad and husband.”

After the birth of his son with wife Hailey Bieber, it was clear that the singer was focused back on anchoring himself in his Christian faith. According to The Express Tribune, the pair consistently go to church and keep a relationship with their pastor, Judah Smith.

Social Media Speculates

Social media users have taken their theories to the internet as to whether he’s leaning on faith as a result of being victimized and turning his pain into purpose.

“It’s so easy and understandable that we fall victim to the difficult situations... but when you’re able to take those experiences and... share them with other people especially on a platform like the platform that Justin Bieber has its remarkable,” said on TikToker.

While seemingly off grid, he continues to stay trending- having sold over 1,500 of his 2020 single “Lonely” after listeners began decoding the lyrics as cry for help.

“Poor kid was groomed, I feel for him actually. Can’t imagine what he went through behind all those doors. Definitely not the same person today,” wrote an X user.

Bieber hasn’t addressed the song or its new popularity. There is also no evidence that Combs has inappropriate relations with the singer.

Bieber’s Walk with Christ

Though, the singer’s been about his Father’s business. Back around 2021, the music artist boldly proclaimed his faith in Jesus Christ and went around praying and worshipping leading to the production of his spiritual EP “Freedom.”

“I have a wife who I adore, who I feel comforted by. I feel safe. I feel like my relationship with God is wonderful. And I have this outpouring of love that I want to be able to share with people, you know?” he said in a 2021 interview with GQ Magazine. It’s fair to say, despite the noise, the artist is leading a Psalm 62:2 life: he shall not be moved.

In other words, he’s minding his business and standing on business.

Meanwhile, Combs is facing over a dozen lawsuits - including one filed by ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura - featuring sex abuse allegations nearly identical to the accusations in the indictment. No one has named Bieber in their legal filings, including the Feds. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and was denied bail.
