Once upon a time during an appearance on New York’s Power 105.1 five years ago, DMX delivered a lively hip-hop rendition of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”—much to the delight of everyone on the internet. It was the most glorious 1 minute, 9 seconds of holiday hip-hop that you have ever seen in your life.

In case you missed it, here is a review. DMX was asked if he knew the words to the Christmas classic, to which he responded yes. He was then asked if he would perform it, and without missing a beat, he began the song from its traditional beginning.

He provided his own accompaniment by beating on a table, and the hip-hop version of “Rudolph” was born, complete with DMX’s signature “Come on!” chant.

That was 2012, and the viral video has made the rounds every holiday season since then.

The new version of DMX’s “Rudolph” is 1 minute, 37 seconds long and features an engineered hip-hop track rather than DMX beating on a table.
