We’re all so exhausted with the news. Every day it feels like there’s a never-ending barrage of bad news. Yet as tired as viewers are of all the negativity, MSNBC’s Joy Reid seemed even more tired when she recently was recently overheard during her show “The ReidOut” saying the F-word on a hot mic.

During a segment about President Joe Biden’s conflict with Republicans about the crisis at the southern border, she could be heard saying “starting another fucking war” on her open mic. She later apologized for the unexpected moment and continued the show, but that didn’t stop trolls from breaking out their fake outrage.

No worries Joy, we understand completely. Being stuck in this chaos-driven, darkest timeline we’re currently living through is enough to make anyone lose their cool once in a while.

As she begins the press tour for her new book, “Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America,” she hit “The View” on Monday. Before they got to her inspiring examination of Medgar and Myrlie Evers, Reid explained the reasoning behind the hot mic moment.

When co-host Sara Haines directly asked if Reid’s off-the-cuff remarks were about Biden, she replied with a “cute no comment.” However, she did clarify where her feelings are coming from.

“I’m a Red Letter Christian,” she said. “I don’t believe in war, whether it’s the Governor in Texas literally trying to start another Civil War over an issue that his party could solve tomorrow–there’s literally a bill that they could pass and do the border issue–or whether it’s in the Middle East.”

Reid explained that she was also “deeply against the Iraq War.”

“I’m an anti-war person. And so I don’t want to say that there’s any side specifically to blame here, but I think for most Americans we’re war-weary,” she said. “I think we’re all weary of conflict, and we would like to see us progress economically, socially, and try to bring us back from the brink of racial hatred. Let’s not do war at all.”

A Black woman on TV being tired of the mess certainly isn’t world shattering. Perhaps, now that she has addressed it, everyone can move forward and focus on her book. The lives of Medgar and Myrlie Evers are much more fascinating than one rogue F-bomb.
