It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good making their first red carpet debut since Majors was found guilty of third degree reckless assault and harassment in the domestic dispute case back in December 2023.

The pair were snapped on the red carpet Sunday at the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Special Achievement Honors luncheon in Los Angeles and were all smiles for photogs and reporters. Speaking exclusively to Extra about the importance of the night, Good said, “It is important to celebrate just Black entertainers ... people who are bringing their unique view, unique way of sharing, of storytelling.”

Good went on to say that she and Majors were there to celebrate filmmaker Deon Taylor who had been “a mentor and a big brother” to them. Majors echoed similar sentiments, adding:

“I would say ditto and add just the fellowship, letting everybody know we are here. We make beautiful art and the contribution that’s made to the film landscape is grown by the contributions of many of the people in this room. We are happy to be here.”

Pivoting the conversation in a more personal direction, when asked how the two were doing—likely in reference to the aftermath of Majors’ verdict nearly three months ago—the duo had nothing but positive things to share.

“In love,” Majors responded. “We’re doing good, thanks for asking.” To which Good added, “We’re doing great. God’s good.”

This marks Majors’ second major interview since his controversial sit down with ABC’s Lindsay Davis following his guilty verdict. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in April.
