Last month, one of the 100-plus plaintiffs suing rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs filed a lawsuit alleging the mogul sexually assaulted him at one of his critically acclaimed “White Parties.” For the first time since the filing, the plaintiff spoke out about the incident.
Anonymously, the John Doe sat down with CNN at his New Jersey home to discuss the alleged sexual assault and the aftermath. It has been two decades since Combs allegedly drugged Doe and tried to sodomize him in a vehicle as the plaintiff worked security at one of the rapper’s parties. The incident still haunts him.
“I have a semblance of a life, a very quiet life. I would prefer what little is left of it to be left alone,” he told CNN.
Though, upon providing his account of what happened, CNN discovered Doe gave a few conflicting details about the incident.
As previously reported by The Root, the lawsuit says the incident occurred in 2006 as Doe worked for MASS Security, a firm hired to provide security for one of Combs’ White Parties at his property in East Hampton. However, Doe told CNN the incident happened in 2007. Also, Combs’ 2006 White Party wasn’t held in the Hamptons...it was held in St. Tropez.
CNN’s report says the complaint was amended to reflect the accurate details of when and where the incident occurred.
Doe claimed after meeting Combs at the party, he was repeatedly targeted by him and offered two drinks, per his lawsuit. After sipping the second drink, Doe said he fell ill and leaned against a truck for support. Doe told CNN he felt like he’d taken 15 drinks, later believing he was drugged with GHB and ecstasy.
“It was just an amazing level of incapacitation that I had never experienced before and I felt powerless,” Doe told CNN.
Combs allegedly approached Doe, seemingly out of concern, but forcibly pushed him inside an open van, per the suit. Combs then allegedly held down Doe and sexually assaulted him in his anus. The lawsuit claims Doe discovered a “disturbing sensation” of what he believed was Combs’ semen coming from his body following the incident.
Doe also mentioned for the first time to CNN that a “high-profile” celebrity witnessed the incident and allegedly found it “amusing.” The suit said Doe reported the situation to his supervisor. However, he told CNN he was never asked to work at the security firm again.
“He just dismissed it,” Doe said to CNN. “After that, he didn’t talk to me again, he cut me out of everything … I was totally blacklisted after that. I had to find a different field.”
Doe said the incident negatively impacted him emotionally and mentally, even bringing his marriage to an end. He told CNN he’ll never feel like the person he was before that evening.
“The full gravity of it lives with me to this day,” Doe told CNN in an interview conducted at his home in New Jersey. “It affects every single thing you do for the rest of your life.”
