Jimmy Fallon Spoofs Empire With ‘Jimpire’

Wednesday night is the night Empire fans have been waiting for with bated breath. People going through Cookie withdrawal will finally get their dose of Taraji P. Henson, and those waiting to see how low Lucious Lyon can sink will finally get to express how much they hate him. Just as the second season is set to start, Jimmy Fallon has made an epic parody of the show on his late-night talk show.

In Lucious Lyon hair and attire, Fallon is Juicy Jim, head of the Tonight Show’s “Jimpire.” In a boardroom meeting, Juicy Jim looks for his predecessor in the event that something drastic happens to him.

“I might not be around forever, what with my finger being in the condition that it is,” Juicy Jim says, mocking the injured finger that Fallon has in real life. “Who knows what could happen tomorrow? I could stub my toe. I could bite my tongue. I could burn the roof of my mouth eating a hot microwave pizza.”

And in comes Fallon’s version of Cookie, who happens to be played by his sidekick, Steve Higgins, aka Higgie, dressed in typical Cookie fashion—aka gaudy.

The hilarious sketch includes cameos from Henson and Terrence Howard as they both confront their counterparts.

“I wanted to talk to you about something serious,” Howard says to Fallon. “I know y’all do these parodies on your show. Don’t do one of Empire.”

“No, we wouldn’t," Fallon replies. “I wouldn’t do that.”

Too late!

When Henson confronts Higgins, she has a bone—I mean cookie—to pick with him.

“I should call you Little Debbie,” Henson tells Higgins before beating him up. “‘Cause you are one fake-ass Cookie.”
