Jimi Hendrix lives on through his music and belongings, which are on display at his former house in London. Hendrix, who died of a drug overdose 40 years ago, was known for his unparalleled musical abilities, particularly as a guitarist, and his fashion style and cool aesthetic. The guitarist lived in an apartment in London's Mayfair area during the late 1960s. He died in London on Sept. 18, 1970. Composer George Handel lived next door in the 18th century, and Hendrix’s former home is now part of the Handel House Museum, which is opening an exhibit honoring the late guitarist on August 25. Sounds like a good time to dust off some of the greatest blues and rock performances of all time.
