JetBlue Offering Free Flights for Police Officers Attending Slain NYPD Cops’ Funerals

JetBlue airlines is extending its services to law-enforcement officials, offering free flights along its route network to officers wishing to attend the funerals of the two New York City police officers who were killed in Brooklyn, N.Y., the New York Post reports.

JetBlue has promised to fly up to two cops from each department to the city from anywhere along its network.

“We’re honored to do what we can to support the communities we serve, and our team has made flights available to law enforcement agencies … who wish to send representatives to New York to support their brethren,” JetBlue spokeswoman Sharon Jones told the Post.

The funeral of Officer Rafael Ramos will be held on Saturday in Queens, N.Y. Officer Wenjian Liu’s funeral plans have not been finalized, but the airline did tell the Post that it was collaborating with a partner to help bring in relatives from China at no charge as well.
