If he behaves himself, former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) could be released from federal prison Dec. 31, 2015.

The Associated Press reports that the release date is listed on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. The calculation is based on whether he receives the maximum reduction of 54 days a year for good behavior.

On Tuesday, Jackson, 48, began serving a 2.5-year prison sentence in North Carolina for illegally spending $750,000 in campaign money.
