William Balfour, the 27-year-old estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson's sister, was sentenced in 2012 to three life sentences without parole for the murders of Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

Balfour gave his first interview since his sentencing to ABC 7 and insisted that he's innocent, saying that he had nothing to do with the killings.

"I didn't have nothing to do with the case and don't know who had anything to do with the case," Balfour said during the interview, referring to the murders as "the case."

When asked why witnesses say that they saw him with the gun that was used to kill Hudson's family members, Balfour said he never had the gun. "No. Not one time," Balofur responded.

"So the people who said they saw you with the gun were lying?" an ABC 7 reporter asked.

"Exactly," Balfour said.

Despite multiple people testifying, including Hudson's sister, that Balfour had threatened to kill his estranged wife and her family several times, Balfour said he never said such things.

"You told people that you wanted her dead, didn't you?" the reporter asked.

"That never occurred. Them are all allegations," Balfour responded.

"Not one time did I ever threaten her, period," he reiterated when asked again.
