Jay Z performed a charity concert in Brooklyn, N.Y., Tuesday night on behalf of his Tidal music-streaming service. He and a slew of other A-listers, including his wife, Beyoncé, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Nas and Meek Mill, brought the house down with their hits. All of the proceeds from the concert’s ticket sales are going to community organizations.

Before the concert, Jay Z sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to talk about Tidal, and he shot back at its naysayers who question whether Tidal’s “hi-fi” feature serves a demand in the market.

“They want people to believe that you don’t care about sound and quality,” Jay Z said.

“They want you to believe […] ‘We don’t care if it’s hi-fi or not.’ But people spend hours and months in the studio mixing their sounds and really crafting the sounds that they want people to hear, and they pretend you don’t care about it,” Jay Z argued.

Jay Z recently celebrated a milestone for the streaming service: It has over 1 million subscribers.

At the concert, he and Beyoncé performed “Holy Grail,” with Beyoncé singing Justin Timberlake’s parts. Beyoncé revealed during the concert that it was her favorite song to perform with her husband. Check out a few photos from the concert below.

Jay Z also announced that the Tidal charity concert would be an annual event. Kudos to Tidal for this philanthropic effort.
