Jay-Z, who owns a small piece of the soon-to-be renamed Brooklyn Nets (formerly of New Jersey), will welcome the team to his hometown by performing at concerts to celebrate the grand opening of the arena next fall.

New York's Daily News reports that Beyoncé, who by then will have given birth to the couple's first child, will join him onstage at one of the concerts.

The rap mogul announced the team's name change and his plans for the concerts today at a news conference across from the Barclay's Center. "We're going to open this arena right here with a concert. Maybe one, maybe two, maybe three … I sound like LeBron," the rapper said.
