The 21-year-old University of Southern California student will lend her hand throughout the Golden Globes ceremony, which is presented by the HFPA. The title of Miss or Mr. Golden Globe is always given to the progeny of a Hollywood star. But just like the lack of diversity in Hollywood, there has also been a lack of diversity in the titleholders.

Corinne Foxx is only the third black woman chosen for the honor. She follows in the footsteps of Whoopi Goldberg’s daughter, Alex Martin (1994), and Alfre Woodard’s daughter, Mavis Spencer (2010).

The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards airs Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
