Jada Pinkett Smith is heading back to the small screen, with Fox ordering a series that plans to dive into the early detective days of Batman police commissioner James Gordon, the Associated Press reports.

The show, slated to be called Gotham, doesn't have an air date but producer Warner Bros. Television told AP that it expects to have the program ready for the 2014-15 season. Gotham will chronicle the untold early year tales of DC Comics' villains including a new one named Fish Mooney played by Pinkett Smith.

According to AP, other cast members include Ben McKenzie playing Detective Gordon (before he becomes commissioner,) Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock and David Mazouz as a young Bruce Wayne, the future Batman.
