Jackie. Or should I say “Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie...”
You know those times when you’re trying to be a responsible adult and have your biweekly budget planned to the penny, including your social calendar and contingency savings? Well, consider this an emergency, because beauty influencer Jackie Aina just threw my budget off by $45 plus tax. (Yes, I know that’s not exactly a major splurge, but I planned down to the penny, I tell you—Auntie Mai’s got big plans.)
Continuing her quest to make the beauty industry palatable for all beauty lovers, Aina just debuted her first collaboration with beloved brand Anastasia of Beverly Hills, with whom she has a curated a collection of her favorite eyeshadow shades, specially formulated to work on darker skin tones, and, well...
Color me obsessed.
The Jackie Aina palette ($45) includes 14 of the YouTube star’s “must-have,” highly-pigmented hues, predominantly in the purple, brown and gold families, with green accent shades. And just for the fun of it, many of the colors bear names recognizable to Aina’s over-three million-strong fanbase, including “Dwollahs” (a metallic golden olive); “Lituation” (a metallic deep taupe with a violet shift); “Zamn” (a sparkling rose gold); “Wiggalese” (a metallic cranberry red); “Shookington” (metallic violet with a blue shift); “Edges” (matte deep peach); and the aptly named “Sponsored” (Metallic chocolate with a teal shift).
And in her customary over-the-top (but always cute) style, Aina paid homage to two of hip-hop’s finest in her promos for the new palette, channeling both Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown for her late-’90s-themed video shoot.
