Imagine being called “deranged” and “psychotic” because you don’t have kids. In a newly resurfaced podcast interview from 2020, former President Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, said just that.
In the 2020 clip, which has spread outrage on social media, the Republican Ohio senator appears to not only question why people don’t have kids but ridicule them for being “childless.”
He explained how he worries that a lot of people in leadership are “more sociopathic” because they don’t have kids. He also stated childless leaders ultimately make the whole country susceptible to becoming more “mentally unstable.”
“The people who are most deranged and most psychotic are people who don’t have kids,” Vance said in the clip. In response, many online users applauded him for throwing another wrench in Trump’s campaign but also scolded him for such a horrid comment.
“Vance is a gift to Democrats that delivers almost daily,” one X user wrote in response to the video.
“What is his obsession with childless adults? Like, it’s weird,” wrote another.
Honestly, his blabbing doesn’t come as a surprise. If you remember, Vance was previously outed for his comments when he questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’ qualifications for holding office based on the sole fact she did not give birth to her two stepchildren. Following that, he slammed several women leaders in the Democratic Party for being “childless cat ladies” who want to make the country miserable.
In another interview resurfacing the internet, Vance doubled down on the whole “anti-child” thing by scolding journalists and “millennial feminist writers” for exploring the reasons why they decided to not have kids.
“We have to go to war against the anti-child ideology that exists in our country,” he said in an interview with The Federalist.
In a recent FOX interview, Trump ran to his wannabe VP’s defense, trying to explain that Vance was expressing his values on families and parenting. However, there’s no excuse for Vance’s comments. His entire stance politically has been driven by lame, sexist, women-bashing bull. His comments were so ignant, Harris’ daughter and her husband’s EX-WIFE had to clap back.
“For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I. She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it,” said Kerstin Emhoff in a statement to NBC News.
Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella, reposted her mother’s statement on Instagram writing, “Say it louder for the people in the back. I love my three parents.”
