Imagine treating a donation to an alleged pedophile/ephebophile like an incorrect Postmates order.
Well, imagine not, as one woman is actually hoping to get a refund for her charity in connection with Robert “R.” Kelly’s recent federal indictment on 18 counts, including child pornography production, receipt of child pornography and obstruction of justice in New York and Chicago.
If you recall correctly, Valencia Love, who is an actual person and not an Instagram filter, took it upon herself to donate a whopping $100,000 toward Kelly’s bond as a fan who believed the R&B singer to be innocent.
As Complex reports, Love paid “four installments of $25,000 in order to have him released from Cook County State jail just two nights after he turned himself in.”
Her Chicago restaurant, Love on the Blu suffered after word got out of her support of the tainted singer.
Throughout it all, however, she maintained his innocence. So, you see, the money was all for naught, as Kels was indicted anyway. Looks like an elevated level of buyer’s remorse, I guess. Oh well.
Kelly is also facing additional charges regarding sex abuse and racketeering cases in other jurisdictions, including New York and Minnesota. As of now, the Chicago trial is set to begin on April 27, 2020.
