Say what you want about Nicki Minaj, her feuds, controversies or music, she continues to hold the fashion world in her thrall, as evidenced by a series of magazine covers this year, including Vogue Arabia, Harper’s Bazaar Russia, Elle, and Wonderland. Her latest? A rosy-hued cover spread for the Music Icon issue of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam.
The rap star is undeniably gorgeous in gowns, furs and even a bedazzled motorcycle helmet by Philipp Plein, Cory Couture, Oscar de la Renta and Stello. But what might be most notable about Minaj’s latest spread is that the hair and makeup were created by former dream team Kim Kimble and Sheiks, respectively. The rapper famously fired her beauty squad (or at least Kimble) in late August, immediately after the 2018 MTV Video Awards.
Looking at this spread, it’s hard not to wonder if she may have been a bit rash in letting her well-established glam squad go. But while Minaj’s impulsive antics may raise eyebrows, what isn’t under debate is that the fashion set likely won’t be tiring of her anytime soon.
