Everyone and their mother (and of course, 50 Cent) is talking about rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter amidst the bombshell rape lawsuit. Not only are folks stunned by the allegations, but they’re reeling over what this might mean for the Roc Nation-produced Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The “In Da Club” rapper, legally named Curtis Jackson, posted the viral meme to Instagram of him sitting in his car, laughing, before driving off with the caption reading, “Ok I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl [?] I’m just asking for a friend!”

While Fif was likely just trolling per usual, others are expressing real concern over whether Hov should have a role in the most televised event in America considering the seriousness of the allegations against him.

“Jay-Z should be removed from any seat with the @NFL. Let the record reflect, The Super Bowl Halftime Show was put together by a Demon,” one X user wrote.

Others, still salty about the Kendrick-Drake beef, also called on Jay-Z to be removed from the Super Bowl deal.

“Jay Z should lose his job with the @NFL which means all his decisions should be reversed so no Kendrick Super Bowl,” wrote another X user.

Roc Nation has produced the Super Bowl Halftime Show since 2020 and is expected to stay on contract for Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming halftime performance next year.

In a recent radio interview with Big Boy, 50 Cent further discussed the event saying he looked forward to seeing Lamar’s performance. However, he did show a bit of concern about Carter’s standing with the NFL given the legal heat.

“They will fall back…the NFL, they won’t necessarily be associated to that,” he said. “I just hope things are alright for him internally, at the crib. It isn’t what you did. It’s what they said you did. The damage is already done by the allegation itself.”

So far, there’s been no word as of now from the NFL in regards to the allegations against Carter.
