In his recently released Netflix special, Jamie Foxx said he was “blessed” with a stroke after he forgot God somewhere along the way in his career. Now, folks online are wondering if he was actually cursed thanks to an incident that occurred during his birthday gathering over the weekend.
During what was supposed to be a celebratory event, Foxx ended up being hit with glass thrown at him from a nearby table while he was out to dinner at a popular Beverly Hills restaurant with his family and friends. Though his spokesperson and the local authorities downplayed the incident, once word of it hit the social media streets, many were wondering exactly what the hell was going on with the “Ray” star and why he was experiencing yet another attack on his wellbeing.
Given the timing and the subject matter of his aforementioned special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was...”—in which he detailed the stroke he suffered back in April 2023—this caused several users on TikTok and Instagram to surmise whether or not Foxx is actually being subjected to ill will and cursed because he ran his mouth.
I mean, think about it: how is it that Foxx — who miraculously overcame a dire health scare and lived to tell about it — became subjected to yet another attack this soon after sharing his truth?
When it comes to trying to figure the “who,” “what” and “why” on Foxx’s second ordeal, some users on TikTok chalked it up to the attack being allegedly orchestrated by Sean “Diddy” Combs and carried out by people “on the outside.”
“Y’all think that that was just a coincidence? What happened at his birthday party? And now he’s back in the hospital and getting more stitches?” one user questioned. “This is the second time this happened.”
Others on TikTok think it could have been a case of a disgruntled viewer who was displeased by aforementioned comedy special. On the other hand, some people felt like it was karma for what Foxx told people in the special about his stroke and how he wound up in the hospital all those months ago.
“Karma got a way of coming back at people,” said another user before adding that she felt Foxx talks too much and maybe that played a part in him going through what he was going through.
Over on Instagram, folks in the comments under The ShadeRoom’s post about the ordeal were further questioning who would have beef with Foxx, if people were mad about the special and urging people to pray for protection over the “Django Unchained” star as it’s clear something or someone may be out to get him.
“Prayer warriors unite! We see what is happening here! Let’s cover him,” wrote one user.
“The devil will try you once you give your life to God. Stay prayed up because it’s dangerous,” said another.
“He got up there and spoke his truth about God. Now they want him gone. Basically how it works,” another wrote.
Regardless of what may actually be true, it’s clear that there’s something in the air surrounding Foxx and it’d probably be best for him to cleanse whatever it is and get it away from him sooner rather than later. If this is supposed to be the start of his career comeback, it’s gotten off to a shaky start. He’d better tighten things up and fast before more odd coincidences start occurring.
