Big Sean has social media buzzing after dropping his latest freestyle for On the Radar Radio. Although he has dropped other solid verses this year, including his recent feature on Eminem’s “Tobey,” this is his most buzzed-about due to the content and his apparent target.
Listen below:
The part that caught many people’s attention was when Sean said, “I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason/N****s looking for engagement like they got their knee bent/I got better things to do than to find someone to beef with.”
He later rapped, “Man, this industry is terrible, I can’t even vouch / I’ve seen grown men get matching tattoos for the clout.”
That last bar sounded like a shot at his former boss Kanye West. In August 2022, Ye, Steve Lacy, and Lil Uzi Vert got matching tattoos that read, “We here forever technically.”
As for the former bars, many have concluded that he’s talking about Kendrick Lamar since it’s been rumored for years that the two aren’t on great terms going back to 2013.
But DJ Hed confirmed that K. Dot was not the MC he was talking about, writing, “I talked to Sean. The bar was ‘I got better things to do than find someone to beef with’ And it was not for Dot. Bar was directed at a different Gemini.”
If Sean is indeed taking shots at Ye, nobody should be shocked: During West’s infamous interview on “Drink Champs” in 2022, he stated, “The worst thing I’ve ever done was sign Big Sean.”
If Big Sean is indeed talking about Ye, you can’t blame him. Those were some scathing words he said about Sean.
But again, this is all speculation. Sean just previewed new music produced by Ye on Monday and said it may be featured on “Vultures Pt. 2,” the anticipated second collab album from Ty Dolla $ign and West.
