Just one day after Darius Jackson reportedly found Jesus, he’s countersuing Keke Palmer, ex-girlfriend and the mother of their nine-month-old son, over alleged abuse —flipping the script on the narrative that he was the one who was allegedly abusive in their relationship.
Per court documents filed on Friday and obtained by the LA Times, Jackson alleges that Palmer “repeatedly engaged in abusive conduct” and “acted as the primary aggressor” throughout the duration of their relationship. He also detailed several incidents during that time period wherein he alleged that the “Big Boss” singer was “was verbally and physically abusive” and allegedly became belligerent after drinking alcohol.
The LA Times has more:
Among his allegations, Jackson said that the former child star “punched me in the face” at a birthday party in August 2021, “punched the windshield of my car while I was driving” in January 2022 and “physically attacked me by choking and hitting me” in her Los Angeles home on Feb. 28, 2022.
Jackson also alleged that on March 12 of this year, Palmer blamed him when a shower drain was not working and water overflowed out of the bathroom. He claims she had been drinking and called him multiple expletives. “I tried to de-escalate the situation and she became more enraged,” Jackson’s counterclaim said.
As previously reported by The Root, this comes just one day after Jackson shared with his followers that he had turned a new leaf and had gotten saved. In a post to his personal Instagram on Thursday, the actor explained the reason behind his silence while dealing with the drama between he and Palmer and revealed that he’d been baptized in the first step to his ultimate fulfillment.
“There’s A LOT I can say but not allowed to say. And at this point, don’t even want to say. I will say, however, that God is & will always be your greatest ally,” he captioned in the video, which showed various clips of him working out while audio from a sermon played in the background. He continued by thanking his friends and family for supporting him throughout the process and explained that he had gotten baptized.
Both the social media post and his new counterclaim comes amid his current custody battle with Palmer. In November, the KeyTV creator sparked a firestorm of social media debates when she filed for a temporary restraining order against Jackson, accusing him of domestic violence. While the order and temporary sole custody of their son was granted to her, since then, the two decided to mutually reschedule the restraining order hearing in an effort to work things out privately and peacefully with mediation.
Now, however, with Jackson’s new counterclaim, it doesn’t seem like things will stay peaceful and private for too much longer.
