Ice Cube to Bill Maher: White Folks Get a Little Too ‘Familiar’ When They Date Black

With lyrics like, “Fuck the police coming straight from the underground, a young brother got it bad cuz I’m brown,” Ice Cube has proved himself to be both a G and a sage.

There’s also the line, “Check yourself before you wreck yourself,” which seems to be written right for Bill Maher, who put his foot in his smarmy mouth last week when he called himself a “house nigger” (hard “r” on that).

Maher, who just happened to have booked Cube the week he had to pay the piper, was his usual arrogant self, but as one Twitter user (the Notorious K.W.S.) noted, Ice Cube came out in his black fitted L.A. cap, and you know he meant business.

He also gave Maher the business about his racial “transgression” (Maher’s words).

“I knew you were gonna fuck up sooner or later … I did,” said Cube right off the bat. “But you be bucking up against that line; you got a lot of black jokes. Sometimes you sound like a redneck trucker.”

Cube continued, “My thing is this, I just want to know … what made you think it was cool to say that?”

Maher replied, “There was no thought to it.”

Cube then said that he accepts Maher’s apology but that “we need to get to the root of the psyche.”

“Because I think that there’s guys who are a little too familiar … who might have a black girlfriend or two that made them some Kool-Aid every now and then, and they think they can cross the line. And they can’t,” he continued.

“It’s a word … that’s like a knife … that’s been used as a weapon against us by white people,” Cube said. And then, kinda gangster like, “And we not gonna let that happen again.”
