Ice Cube Plays Racist Cop in New Comedy

Here we go again.  First, it was Bernie Mac in Guess Who? where he plays a black dad tortured by his daughter's white husband-to-be.  Then there was Samuel Jackson in Lakeview Terrace, that racial-heavy thriller where a black cop terrorizes a white man and his beautiful black wife.  Now it's Ice Cube. He's just signed on to play a cop in New Line Cinema's Ride Along, an action-comedy where Cube bullies (comedically) the white upper-crust fiancé of his lovely black sister.

What's going on?  Is Hollywood saying they're tired of white guys taking all the racist heat when it comes to black-white love?

Hey, I know there are a lot of really cool white guys in the country, but this small trend of mean black man and his issues with interracial love seems presumptuous.  In other words, let black folks decide when black folks want to explore our interracial issues on screen.  Then again, maybe black folks are a bit in denial about our interracial hang-ups and white Hollywood (and Ice Cube) is just offering a little nudge.

Any thoughts?
