I’m quite sure that being a parent and having to deal with burying your child is one of the toughest things to cope with. When I first saw Bobby Brown’s tears as he was dealing with the death of Bobbi Kristina, it tugged at my heart. Not only because he lost a child but also because of how she died.
It’s obvious that Bobbi Kristina’s parents had their own issues with drugs. It’s been written about ad nauseam. From Bobby Brown’s own admitted drug use to Whitney Houston’s drug use that ultimately ended her life, their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was surrounded by addiction. Recently, Brown has been candid about his life and drug use, as well as that of his daughter and ex-wife. And, of course, this is all in an effort to sell his new memoir.
It seems that Brown’s memoir, Every Little Step, is just as salacious as a tabloid you’d find in your grocery store’s checkout aisle. It might as well have said that it was co-written by Star. Or at least US Weekly, since he’s now putting Houston’s business out in the tabloid streets.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Brown stooped to an all-time tabloid low. He discussed rumors that had surrounded Houston’s sexuality. Rumors Houston never confirmed or even gave people the time of day about when they tried to bring them up. To add fire to the rumors, Brown alleged that they were true, that Houston and her former friend Robyn Crawford had been more than friends.
“We were married for 14 years. There are some things we talked about that were personal to us,” Brown said in discussing Houston and her rumored relationship with Crawford.
“I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney’s life, Whitney would still be alive today,” Brown said, referring to Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, apparently not accepting her daughter’s alleged bisexuality. “She didn’t have close friends with her anymore.”
I was rooting for Bobby Brown. But not anymore.
Regardless of how Houston lived her private life, it’s lower than low to talk about people’s alleged sexuality when they’re dead and gone. Especially if a person was someone you admitted to having loved at one point. I get that Brown is trying to sell books, but he should do it at his own expense.
But then again, I guess you can’t fill every chapter about your own drug use and alleged spousal domestic violence issues.
