So...how do you get away with murder? By playing a harmless hypothetical game about it, of course! We are gearing up for the ultimate and final season of How To Get Away With Murder (HTGAWM) and to bring in the occasion, we decided to play a black ass game with the cast. Y’all know the (often difficult) game, “Fuck, Marry, Kill,” right? Well, to keep it in line with the theme of the show, we decided to remix it a bit and play “Frame, Marry, Kill.” You know, because the folks on HTGAWM are always framing somebody? Right. And not only did I get to play this fun game with such a dope cast—Viola Davis (Annalise Keating), Aja Naomi King (Michaela Pratt) and Rome Flynn (Gabriel Maddox), Matt McGorry (Asher Millstone) and Jack Falahee (Connor Walsh)—I got to do it on the set of the show! I snuck into Connor and Oliver’s (Conrad Ricamora) bedroom (colored with a James Baldwin portrait and outline by an assortment of books), in fact! We had them choose between Shondaland characters and famous black women lawyers on television. And because we’re black as hell at The Root, of course we had a question about chicken. Check out the video above to see their answers! What a (delicious) way to honor the bittersweet ending of HTGAWM, indeed. Here’s to season 6! “I still believe, and I will say this until I go to my grave, that Annalise Keating [and] Olivia Pope are the greatest characters on TV,” Davis told Variety in a recent interview. Yes, those two characters will definitely go down in history, especially Davis who became the first African American woman to win the lead actress Emmy for her portrayal as Annalise. Season 6 of How To Get Away With Murder premieres Thursday, Sept. 26, on ABC at 10 p.m. ET.
