How to Get Away With Murder: Better Call Annalise

Annalise Keating’s methods might be questionable, but there’s no denying that the Middleton University professor knows how to get results. She has managed to keep her murdering associates (students and employees alike) out of jail, dispose of a dead body found in her basement, frame her handsome ex-boyfriend and manipulate her lovely ex-girlfriend into defending him to keep him from the electric chair, all while supposedly grieving over her dead husband. How’s that for multitasking? While she might not be the first person you call for marital advice, if you ever find yourself standing near a freshly slain body, she’s your woman.

Nate Goes Free

Thanks to Annalise and Eve, Nate is now a free man. It remains to be seen, however, whether Annalise’s efforts to keep him out of jail trump the fact that she placed him there in the first place, ruining his career in the process. Is he ready to forgive and move on? Judging by the way he gazed at her with her reunited lover as they affectionately parted ways after a passionate night together, I think not.

The Hapstall Siblings

While keeping criminals out of jail seems to be Professor Keating’s main concern these days, Emily Sinclair, the prosecutor whom Annalise verbally assaulted while testifying in court, has a contrary goal. After failing to lock up Nate, Emily is now assigned to the Hapstall murder case. Unfortunately, Emily won’t have Asher to glean for info anymore. He caught on to her tricks and doesn’t plan to continue helping her do her job.

Emily might need some assistance against Annalise and her team, who were already able to get critical evidence against Caleb Hapstall thrown out, thanks to Oliver. The Hapstall siblings aren’t free and clear yet, though, and Caleb is without a solid alibi for his aunt’s murder.

Rebecca

For those keeping count, that’s three unsolved murders that Annalise and the Keating Five have to defend the Hapstall duo against. However, the crew is still also worried about Rebecca, whose whereabouts remain a concern. She’s dead, but they don’t know that, and that’s not good for Michaela, who may have just met Eggs 911. The flirty Levi charmed her into a date, but Wes later found a photo of Levi with Rebecca. Is Michaela in danger? Should Annalise tell her minions that Rebecca is dead? After all, they’ve been faithful to her, but that might change in a month or two.

Fleeing the Scene?

Fast-forward to one night in the near future, and the four, minus Asher, leave a bleeding Annalise on the floor of the Hapstall mansion. She’s not the only injured party, though. Emily, the prosecutor, is there, too, and her injury looks a tad worse. Is that a bullet to the head? Instead of staying by Annalise’s side, Wes, Laurel, Connor and Michaela flee. Have they betrayed their instructor, or are they just faithfully following her example?
