If you’re anything like me, coming back to work after a four-and-a-half day weekend was a struggle, to say the least (and that’s saying a lot, since my morning commute is approximately three feet). How to ease back into a day spent in front of my laptop, after so many days blissfully spent doing nothing?
Well, if there’s one reminder to take away from an extended holiday weekend, it’s to treat yo’ self whenever possible—which is why I’ll be balancing my work today with a little Cyber Monday shopping, to get a jump on my holiday gift-giving—starting with myself.
Now, if you’re a one-stop shopper looking for major deals on beauty today, there are obviously pages worth of beauty steals for half off at Sephora, as well as crazy deals at Ulta. It’s also a great time to stock up on any number of the black-owned beauty Target carries, since they’re offering 15 percent off across its site.
But if you’re looking to be a little more strategic with your spending, we’ve got the scoop on a number of black-owned and black-led beauty and fashion brands, making it a little easier to indulge this Cyber Monday. Remember: the rule is, for every two for them, you’re allowed one for you.
Jumping right in with one of our best-known faves: Fenty Beauty is giving 20 percent off site-wide—so it’s a good time to stock up on your Pro Filt’r. But you can also score up to 35 percent off indelible beauty at Beauty Bakerie, with graduating discounts.
Luxury makeup mogul Pat McGrath is extending her Black Friday deals, offering 15 percent to 25 percent off her cult favorites (this is the perfect time to score one or three of her Mothership mini-palettes). But if you really want to pile on the saturated shades, you can fill your virtual cart for up to 70 percent off at Coloured Raine. Eyeshadow experts Juvia’s Place is also offering up to 45 percent off their already low-priced shades.
Love The Lip Bar? This Cyber Monday, they’re offering 40 percent off—but only until 12pm EDT. They’re also offering $2 shipping. Meanwhile, Mented Cosmetics is still celebrating Black Friday with 30 percent off their famous collection of nudes.
Family brand Oyin Handmade is ending its five-day sale by giving 30 percent off all hair and body products, while under-haircare specialists Girl + Hair are offering their products for $10 each through the end of Cyber Monday—a steal, if you rock protective styles. And if you’re looking to score something for a fella on #BeardGang, Scotch Porter is giving a generous 50 percent off today.
Speaking of loving the skin you’re in, Savage x Fenty is continuing to seduce us with a super-deep half-off discount of its entire line. Meanwhile, one of our all-time favorite designers, Whitney Mero, is offering 20 percent off site-wide on her comfortable and sexy Onion Cut & Sewn line through Monday, with the super-cute code “PattisPies.”
The Good American jeans line is primarily associated with Khloe Kardashian, but very few know that the brand was co-owned and founded by a black woman, making this technically a black-owned brand (save the O.J. jokes, please). The line hasn’t been without its controversial moments (see: accusations of design stealing), but as much as we hate to say it, the fits on their jeans are a godsend to curvy girls up to a size 24—and today, they’re giving an extra 25 percent off, including sale styles.
Another star-helmed brand offering deals today? Serena Williams’ Serena line, which is having its first-ever sale this weekend, making it the perfect time to try out some of her streetwear.
Want to say it with your chest? Habitually Fly is selling their statement tees and sweatshirts starting at $20-$35, while socially-conscious brand Philadelphia Print Works is offering a sliding scale of discounts with their annual Black Wall Street sale.
Is that all? We certainly hope not—and encourage you to leave your black-owned Cyber Monday suggestions in the comments so we can promote another round before this day of deals is over. In the meantime...get shopping!
