Labor Day weekend was quite scary for Kevin Hart and his family.
On Sunday, the actor-comedian suffered major injuries from a car crash involving his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which was a birthday present to himself this year.
As Entertainment Weekly reports:
Hart was hospitalized Sunday after the vintage car he was a passenger in veered into an embankment in Malibu Hills, Calif. The driver had lost control of the vehicle but was determined not to be under the influence of alcohol, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
Both Hart and the driver suffered “major back injuries” and were “transported and treated at nearby hospitals,” while a third passenger did not sustain major injuries, the report said.
Several celebrities and people within the entertainment industry took to social media to send their well wishes to Hart and his family upon hearing the news.
Hart’s wife, Parrish, provided a much-anticipated update Monday, assuring us that Hart was on the up-and-up following his back surgery.
“He’s good, everybody’s good. Thank God,” Parrish told TMZ when they approached her outside of the hospital where Hart is being treated. “He’s fine, he’s awake.”
Hart will reportedly remain at the hospital for a few days until he has recovered.
