In just two short weeks, attorney Tony Buzbee found out just who Jay-Z is. Ever since the “99 Problems” rapper was named in one of the many civil suits against Sean “Diddy” Combs, the two have engaged in a pretty public back and forth in both the courts and online, leading various allegations and stories about Buzbee to come to light in the wake of their legal battle.

As we reported, Buzbee is representing Sean “Diddy” Combs’ accusers, including one Jane Doe who alleges the disgraced rapper and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter raped her in 2000. Since then, Jay-Z has been aggressively fighting back against the claims, as the two have gone back and forth with each other in a very public manner.

The day after Jay-Z was named in the suit, he fought back in a statement via Roc Nation, alleging that his legal team received a “blackmail attempt” from Buzbee. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” the statement read, with Jay-Z adding that it had the “opposite” effect, with him aiming to “expose” Buzbee for the “fraud” he believes him to be.

From then on, the two hit each other back and forth in the press, with Buzbee going to news outlets with his own sequence of events and allegations that Jay-Z and his legal team were the ones trying to intimidate him, by contacting family members and former clients. Just last week, Buzbee filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, claiming that the rapper’s attorneys allegedly “offered a former client money in exchange for turning on Buzbee,” per TMZ,

A spokesperson for Roc Nation naturally denied this, calling it a “baloney” lawsuit and a “pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention,” all while Jay filed a motion to “speedily extract” his name from the headline-making Jane Doe lawsuit completely, citing the accuser’s recent TV interview in which she acknowledged inconsistencies in her story, as we reported.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get messier between the two, on Friday, Buzbee got hit with a separate lawsuit against him in which a Jane Doe alleges that Buzbee knowingly gave her an STI. The lawsuit claims that Buzbee offered her free legal advice in exchange for silence on the issue, and also alleges he assaulted her with a champagne flute.

Doe is suing the attorney for “legal malpractice, violation of judiciary law, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent misrepresentation, and tortious interference.” Buzbee of course is denying the allegations, calling the lawsuit “frivolous, laughable and ridiculous and will be dismissed along like the others” while once again pinning these allegations to an alleged smear campaign from Roc Nation.

Once again, Roc Nation was not having any of this. Catching a pattern here? They replied in a statement denying the claims that that reads, “We are not the source of every sunlight you get but Roc sunshine is coming your way Mr. 1800. Shameful.”

We’ve got our eye on this situation as it gets messier and messier, but we can’t imagine this attorney expected to be thrust into the public eye quite this way when representing these various accusers. Either way, he’s in the spotlight now.
