After Flavor Flav’s huge, unique way of showing his love for Red Lobster, the famous seafood chain is reciprocating the feeling with a new special meal.

According to PEOPLE, Flavor Flav’s Faves includes: “a Maine lobster tail; snow crab legs; garlic shrimp scampi; bacon macaroni and cheese; and the customer’s choice of one side.” And of course, you’ll start with the Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

“As a long-time Red Lobster fan, I’m fired up to bring a little bit of my own flavor to fans with a meal featuring my seafood favorites,” Flavor Flav said in a statement. “You gotta get to Red Lobster and give it a try because this signature meal is hype, boy!”

Keep in mind that the new deal is an off-menu special, so if you want Flavor Flav’s Faves, you have to ask your server for it.

The news that Red Lobster could be headed for bankruptcy hit Black folks hard. Where will we have all our graduation and birthday celebrations? Where will we go on first dates? What will we do without Cheddar Bay Biscuits in our lives. Yes, we know you can get the biscuits in a box mix and frozen, but it’s not quite the same as when you get them fresh out of the oven at the restaurant.

One hip-hop star is not taking the news lying down and has decided to do “anything and everything” to keep the good times going. On Monday, Flavor Flav took to social media to reveal the over the top family meal he recently had at the popular seafood chain.

“Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits,,,ordered the whole menu,!!!,” he wrote on X.

The responses to his post were full of support from those who love the restaurant — and its signature biscuits — as much as the “Fight the Power” rapper.

At one point, someone suggested that his efforts could get him in a commercial for the restaurant or “free Cheddar Bay Biscuits for life,” the Public Enemy legend replied, “Imma trying my best.”

Referencing his support for the U.S. Women’s Water Polo team as they prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics, someone asked, Wait you saving @redlobster and the water polo team,” to which he responded, “And teachers and music education and mental health awareness and food banks and addiction counseling and FUN seems like FUN needs to be saved lots these days.”

He also posted about his seafood adventure on Instagram, leading the restaurant chain to reply, “It’s flavor time, boyeeeeeeee!”

Flav may have meant well, but anyone who’s ever worked in food service will tell you that gesture probably didn’t go over well with the staff. Did it help that day’s receipts? Yes. However, it may have put extra strain on a small staff who weren’t expecting to prepare and serve that volume of food. We hope he tipped accordingly to help accommodate them for the extra work.

For the unfamiliar, restaurants set their staff based on the expected business of certain days and shifts. For example, Red Lobster probably isn’t anticipating huge crowds on a random Wednesday afternoon in June, so they’ll likely have a smaller staff scheduled. We don’t know exactly when this epic meal took place, but let’s hope he gave the location some advance notice.

As it usually does when people are discussing Red Lobster, reactions to Flav’s family dinner quickly focused on the Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

One user is only interested in the addictive bread, writing on X, “Ay i aint gon [cap] they better find a way to keep dem biscuits idk how but keep the biscuits.”

Someone else also noted how tough this probably was on the staff, posting on X, “I bet the 1 cook in the back was so stressed.”

When one user asked him to put a similar spotlight on other fan favorite eateries, the “Flavor of Love” star explained, “MAN,,, love me sum FRIDAYS and Hooters and Chilis.”

While this is a lot of fun and we hope it leads to people supporting their local Red Lobster to help out the staff who work at those locations, we all need to start emotionally preparing ourselves for the possible end of the seafood chain. We’re all going to have to figure out the best way to enjoy the Cheddar Bays at home.
