Vice President Kamala Harris has been joined by a star-studded lineup of supporters in the final weeks of her presidential campaign. There may have been none more exciting than Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland showing up at the Houston rally on Oct. 25. With two thirds of the super popular and successful R&B group Destiny’s Child in the house, many fans were wondering where Michelle Williams was.
First of all, everyone can calm down because there’s no beef between the ladies. Turns out, she’s just so busy with her career, she couldn’t get away to join them. During an appearance on “Sherri,” Williams revealed that she missed out on all the fun because she’s currently starring on Broadway in “Death Becomes Her.”
“I was so happy, but at the same time, it was the first time that I have not been able to be in person for something that I wanted to be at,” she said. “And that is a sacrifice we make [with] Broadway. I couldn’t be there, but they represented and held me down in their own way.”
She also noted how people are always talking about Bey and Kelly being together more, and she explains it just about location and proximity. While her bandmates can see each other in LA, where they both live, she’s in Atlanta.
Michelle and Sherri went on to joke about how you can’t talk about two members of the group without thinking of the other, with Willaims exclaiming, “We ain’t together all the time.” However, she did add the three women “are together more than people think.”
While addressing the crowd, Beyoncé referred to the VP as “the woman who’s been pushing for what this country really needs right now — unity.”
“It’s impossible not to feel the energy in this room, the positivity, the community, the humanity,” the :Freedom” singer said. “We are at the precipice of an incredible shift. The brink of history.”
