Before he immerses himself in a potentially new vampire universe, Michael B. Jordan has some personal issues to settle. Back in December, the “Creed III” actor/director was involved in a car accident in Hollywood, California. While driving down Sunset Blvd., his Ferrari crashed into a parked Kia SUV. Though both cars suffered extensive damage, no one was injured.
As previously reported by The Root, at the time of the crash, “Jordan was not cited,’ wasn’t under the influence of any substances and wasn’t ‘suspected to be a factor in the crash.” However, shortly after the incident, a video was released that allegedly appeared to show the “Black Panther” star racing against another Ferrari before the crash. The footage led the Los Angeles Police Department to open an investigation into the crash. Now, it appears a conclusion to this situation has been reached.
According to TMZ, Jordan will not face any charges in the crash, as there’s “not enough evidence to prove what happened.” Although media reports said the actor was driving at the time of the crash, the video does not definitively show him “behind the wheel.” For him to be charged with street racing, police would need to prove he was driving the car. As for speeding, there’s no way to tell from the video exactly what speed the car was traveling.
Jordan has been able to stay away from controversy as his career takes off, so this was a small hurdle on his road to superstardom. Since there were no injuries or arrests, this story will probably be forgotten by the time his next project hits audiences, and we’ll resume discussing whether or not he takes his shirt off in his new movie.
Now with this situation behind him, the actor is free to focus on his expansion of the “Creed” universe, his role in “I Am Legend 2,” the aforementioned vampire project and a possible “Thomas Crown Affair” remake. Seems like his 2024 could be even bigger than 2023.
