Spinning a basketball on your finger is easy when the Harlem Globetrotters are your teachers. Just ask Pope Francis, who was captured attempting the trick in St. Peter’s Square Wednesday while meeting with the team, Fox News Latino reports.

The pope, who met the Globetrotters during his weekly general audience, was given a framed jersey with his title on the back and took a photo with teammates Hi-Lite Bruton, Ant Atkinson, Big Easy Lofton and Flight Time Lang, who held the pope’s index finger before passing the already spinning basketball to him.

According to the news site, Pope Francis is the ninth person to be named an honorary Globetrotter. Other honorees include Pope John Paul II, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and comedians Whoopi Goldberg and Bob Hope.

“We are very humbled by the opportunity to bestow this honor upon Pope Francis,” Globetrotters President Kurt Schneider said in a statement, according to Fox News Latino. “His tireless work for the well-being of the poor and elderly, his humanitarian efforts and his commitment to bridge gaps between people of various cultures are ways the Harlem Globetrotters also aspire to touch lives around the world. He embodies the Globetrotters’ efforts to provide service, smiles and sportsmanship globally.”
