Nominations for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards were unveiled this morning, with winners to be announced at the Jan. 13 ceremony hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Some highlights (and not-so-highlights) for African Americans: Denzel Washington scored a best actor nomination for his role in Flight, and Don Cheadle is up for best actor in a musical or comedy for House of Lies. Django Unchained got five mentions, but none specifically for its black actors. And Beasts of the Southern Wild, the fantasy drama about a Louisiana Bayou community, was overlooked entirely.
