On Tuesday, flanked by state lawmakers at Georgia’s state Capitol, Knight was on hand for the official dedication of a stretch of State Route 9.

“I am most happy for all of us, all of you,” Knight told supporters. “When you ride down the street and see my name, have some pride in it to know that you have a piece of it.”

State Route 9 consists of Spring and West Peachtree streets, and the stretch of highway named “Gladys Knight Highway” will run from 14th Street to Peachtree Street, according to WABE.
