On the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall movement, FX Networks gave to me: Pose, season three!

That’s right, the category is: booked, busy, and blessed! FX’s groundbreaking, award-winning series Pose has been renewed for a third season.

On the six-inch heels of the first episode of this season—you know, the one that was the highest watched episode since the shows airing (per an FX press release)—we were blessed with the news that the LGBTQ+ community will continue being represented for all to see.

“The show’s creator, Steven Canals, was told ‘no’ over 150 times before Ryan Murphy said yes to Pose,” says Pose actor Dyllón Burnside, who commenced to preach by saying, “the show, like many of us working on it, were denied for being too queer, too black, too other.”

Burnside reminded The Root that it’s unheard of to have a season 3 pickup just short of a week after the season 2 premiere. He echoed how great it is to be a part of a piece that celebrates the very things that others have called a weaknesses.

Canals’ “no” should serve as a reminder that what’s meant for you will always be for you, no matter how many no’s you’ve received. It should be a charge to continue to work hard towards your dreams and never let anyone’s idea of you gauge how you live your life or pursue your goals.

I, for one, am excited for this renewal, because it means young members of the LGBTQ+ community will be allowed to see themselves on screens and continue to be inspired to be their authentic selves.
