Moses “Shyne” Barrow’s new documentary, “The Honorable Shyne,” gets into details of the alleged plan that left him the “fall guy” for a 1999 club shooting in New York City that Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly executed himself. But Diddy and his team of lawyers aren’t having it.

Diddy’s team reportedly sent a cease-and-desist order against Shyne and the documentary. According to Page Six, a source close to Combs as well as the documentary insisted that the Bad Boy Entertainment founder sent a cease-and-desist not to necessarily block the release of “The Honorable Shyne” but to “ensure” that the facts were correct.

In a statement, Combs “categorically denies” Barrow’s accusations, “including any suggestion that he orchestrated Mr. Barrow to ‘take the fall’ or ‘sacrificed’ him by directing witnesses to testify against him. These claims are unequivocally false.”

The reps also said: “Mr. Combs was acquitted of all charges related to the [1999 incident] and has consistently maintained his innocence,” and, “Mr. Combs appreciates the path Mr. Barrow has pursued and wishes him continued success. It is unfortunate that Mr. Barrow has chosen to revisit these allegations.”

Both men went on trial for the shooting in 2001, but only Shyne was convicted of assault and reckless endangerment. He wound up serving an eight-year jail sentence.

“It’s all coming to light,” Barrow says in the film, per Rolling Stone. “Because when I said it [at the time], everyone was partying and having a great time with Diddy while I was left to rot in prison.”

Shyne’s documentary was released on Nov. 18 on Hulu. It follows Combs’ Sept. 16 arrest on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Following his 2009 release from jail, Shyne was deported to his native Belize. He is currently a politician there, where he serves as Leader of the Opposition in the country’s House of Representatives.
