Clarence Thomas is the conservative Supreme Court justice who consistently finds himself mired in scandal. He became a national disgrace in 1991 after being accused of sexual harassment by attorney Anita Hill. Unfortunately, he managed to make his way into the high court anyway. On a daily basis, Thomas reminds us why he is a detestable human being.

Over the years, he’s made some horrible friends along the way who have propped up his nonsense for decades. Here’s a list of some of Thomas’s most infamous lowlife associates.

Earlier this year, ProPublica reported how Texas real estate billionaire gifted Clarence Thomas luxurious items like vacations, flights on private jets and tuition payments. Many consider this unethical behavior, as Crow possibly influenced Thomas’s legal decisions and rulings. Thomas insisted that the Crows “are among our dearest friends.” He continued: “As friends do, we have joined them on a number of family trips.”

Despite having a history of sending racist and hateful texts about Black people, Turning Point USA organizer and conservative personality Crystal Clanton pursued a legal career with Thomas’s help. She even lived with Thomas and his wife Ginni for a short time. “I know Crystal Clanton and I know bigotry,” he said. “Bigotry is antithetical to her nature.”

Anthony Welters is a rich health-care entrepreneur who loaned Thomas money to buy a luxury RV valued at almost $270k in 1999. Thomas made some interest payments—not all—but Welters said it was settled in 2008. A lawyer for Thomas said that the loan’s terms “were satisfied in full” but never specified what they were.

The founder of the Center for Security Policy, Frank Gaffney Jr., has used everything in his power to spread Islamophobia. In 2017 and 2018, the nonprofit paid Ginni Thomas’s firm Liberty Consulting $236,000 according to tax records. In 2018, the Center for Security Policy supported Trump’s Muslim travel ban in a Supreme Court amicus brief.
