A Fox Latin America staffer may have lost his job after he posted a poll that surely didn't please any of the network's Jewish followers.
The poll titled, "Who do you think is responsible for the death of Jesus Christ?" was on the network's Spanish Facebook page and provided three choices for the answer: "A. Pontius Pilate, B. Jewish People, and C. High Priests."
A Fox spokeswoman publicly apologized and said the poll was immediately removed.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center's office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, told the Associated Press that it was just another example of archiac information being brought up to divide people. The Vatican rejected the Jews-killed-Jesus notion in 1965.
While there is no factual information that ties the Jewish population to the death of Jesus Christ, in many circles, the belief that the Jews killed Jesus remains strong. But if you need to look any further for a voice of authority on this issue, look at Pope Benedict XVI, who publicly exonerated the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ in his book Jesus of Nazareth Part II, which will be released in 2012.
There really isn't much else to say, except what else can we expect from Fox News? This is the norm for this network, whether it's done here in the U.S. or overseas.
