Columbus Short can now put one scandal behind him, after pleading no contest to an amended felony count of assault likely to cause great bodily injury. Short, who was involved in a restaurant brawl in March 2014, entered the plea in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday and received credit for 12 days in the county jail.
Short was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Leslie Brown to three years of probation and 60 days of community service. Brown also ordered Short to attend 26 anger-management classes and to pay a restitution amount that will be set Oct. 21. In the restaurant brawl, a man was left bloodied and battered after being knocked out.
“We came to an agreement with the prosecutor and the court,” Short’s lawyer, Ludlow B. Creary II, told TheWrap Thursday. “Now Mr. Short can put this behind him and get on with his life and his career.”
Hopefully, for the next 36 months, Short can manage to stay out of trouble.
