Girls should run the world, or at least the United States, according to first lady Michelle Obama.
After Monday's inaugural White House Summit on Working Families, ABC's Robin Roberts prompted the first lady to talk about whether women could fill the role of commander in chief. Obama responded that she is positive that a woman would be an appropriate fit for the job.
"This country is ready for anyone who can do the job," Obama told Roberts. "And what we have learned is that the person who can do the job doesn't have a particular race or gender or background or socioeconomic status. The person who should do the job is the person who is the most qualified, and I think we have some options, don't we?"
When her husband, President Barack Obama, was elected in 2008, it definitely broke a glass ceiling in the government. It looks like there will be a lot more shattered glass in Washington if the first lady gets her way.
While Michelle Obama has shared that she isn't getting into politics herself, it looks like there may be an endorsement for a female candidate in the future. Hilary Clinton for 2016, maybe?
