Seems as if there may be hope yet for Meek Mill. After an enormous outcry over the rapper’s tough two- to four-year prison sentence over probation violations—from both celebrities and your everyday citizen—the FBI has decided to investigate the Philadelphia judge presiding over the case.
Meek’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, has accused Judge Genece Brinkley of showing “enormous bias” against the emcee and acting “inappropriately” by repeatedly asking Meek to drop Roc Nation, his current management, and sign on with local music mogul Charlie Mack, with whom Meek worked early on in his career, according to Page Six.
Tacopina also said that Brinkley once asked the rapper to do a remix of “On Bended Knee” by Boyz II Men and to give her a shoutout, but Meek refused, possibly resulting in the stiff sentence, according to TMZ.
“The feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships. This is an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand. Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016,” an unidentified source told Page Six.
Mack also allegedly once told Meek, whose real name is Robert Williams, that he knew the judge and could help him out in his case, according to the source.
However, Mack has refuted that claim, insisting that he has never spoken to the judge and that “there is no conspiracy.”
